Property: Silvery white, light, soft andextensible solid metal, lighter than water, in shape of wax atnormal temperature. Quickly oxidizes in air, reacts violently andreleases hydrogen and sodium hydroxide with water or humidity,gives out a lot of heat, causes burns or explosion, can reacts withhalogen and inorganic and organic matter.
Application:Used as reducing agent in organicsynthesis and metal smelting, the synthetic rubber catalyst, oildesulfurization agent, and also used in producing indigo powder ofdyestuff industry, pharmaceutical intermediates, as heat carrier ofatomic reactor, also can be used as a coolant, rust remover,producing sodium cyanide, potassium sodium, sponge titanium,peroxide sodium and various chemical drugs or as a reducing agentetc.
